The McCain Monster

John McCain is every die-hard democrat's worst nightmare. Why? Because he appears more liberal than he actually is. He is the wolf in little red riding hood who puts on grandma's liberal garb to draw in the unsuspecting little red-swing-voter, only to have her realize too late that all he wants to do is eat her.

McCain's immigration, abortion, and educational views are most definitely more liberal than his evangelical counterpart, Huckabee, but his conservative views on economics and foreign policy are less explored and more important. He is more stalwartly conservative than most swing voters would like to believe. The idea of a middle-of-the road president appeals to many swing voters, and makes democrats everywhere shake in their boots, but John McCain is not that man. Bill Clinton ended up being that man with his cuts to welfare while maintaining a humanitarian stance on foreign policy, even though he ran his campaign on liberal ideas. It is my thesis that John McCain could very easily win the election on a middle-of-the-road platform. However, I also think that the moment he assumes office, he will revert back to his conservative roots.

I therefore caution all swing voters against John McCain, and I urge all Democratic candidates, who will never read this blog, but whatever, to reveal how truly conservative John McCain is on the important issues. Just keep repeating 100 years throughout the general.

an indian perspective

As one of two u.s. citizens in my family, I bear the responsibility to represent the ideals of both my parents and myself. As a democrat, I find the current Obama-clinton 'battle' intriguing. Throughout political debates, in one ear, I hear my mother's voice chirping the name Clinton, and it's with the other ear that I struggle to saturate myself with political information. As of this moment, it's hard for me to decide who I would like to have in office, Clinton's experience, or Obama's voice of change. all i can say is it better be a democrat.

In the end

as most know the democratic race for the nomination not only has come down to two people, but what's more is that the race is so much closer than any in the last sixteen years. Furthermore, Clinton, the senator of New York, and Obama (vote obama!), the senator of Illinois, are both of a minority, making this race all the more interesting as there is no white, male politician running any more. however, in the end, winning the states will not be the defining factor in this nomination. I have a feeling that this race will come down to the superdelegates, where most believe Clinton to have the distinct advantage. However, the superdelegates are totally unpredictable as they have no ties or promises to either politician, therefore in my opinion the superdelegates cannot be safely and accurately predicted, leaving this race to the imagination.

Also, there is an opportunity for Obama to take advantage of this slight lead, and attempt to unify not only the stronger more stable democrats, but also swing voters, he could be the democratic version of Raegan. In which case i would assume that if he is able to do this, he will have the nomination and the general election locked.

Books Much?

So Barack Obama wrote some biographical books. What impact does this have on his campaign? Before he was running for President, confessing to using drugs in his book made quite a buzz in Washington. He then appeared on Oprah; I think it was when they first met. Barack's books told about his life and had inspiring titles. Hillary Clinton and Mike Huckabee, conversely, wrote weird philosophical books about children ("Kids who Kill", "It Takes a Village"). Has writing about himself helped Obama? People are very keen to know more about his life, and Obama's books certainly fill this need. The person who wins in November (and the Democrat who gets the nomination in June) will not be determined because of their books. But people who've read the book of Obama or Clinton are probably more likely to vote for that person. The real question is: will people who read "My Life" by Bill vote for his wife?

Why I am always right

In class we had a discussion about who would win the election, and i would like to give my thoughts on the upcoming election, as i did infront of my class, to the internet community (sans IM child mollesters).

I believe the entire election comes right down to who wins in California: Mccain and Clinton, and these will be the U.S.'s strongest horses in the upcoming election. Clinton has name recognition, primarily due to her husband. Shes by the far the best politician in this entire race, and thats why shell win the democratric nomination. Aditionally, she is very smart, inspite of my own political beliefs. So she becomes a multi threat to her republican counterparts as a white smart woman who has more fame and respect than her adulterist husband who also won the election. Should we republicans be intimidated? no. The fact is, there are enough people on both sides of the spectrum who hate hillary enough that she will be overwhelmed by her liberal republican counterpart Mccain. Hes the ulto candidate, and more respectable than his mudslinging opponent hillary. Hes a war vet and hero, and appease both his middle class republican base, and whiny liberal base. So he will win, bye.

result of Clinton vs. Obama = ...republican wins

I am a relatively conservative person, but if i was to see a democrat in office, i would much rather see clinton than obama. Clinton is a much more experienced politician than obama and she would not go crazy in office trying to get her extremist ideas passed through government because she knows how government truly works. She knows that congress is balanced and that if she tries to get her socialist ideas passed in congress, then they would most likely fail. Obama is so inexperienced that it would take him a few years to realize that he can't pass ANYTHING he brings before congress. Also, obama would be the worst for the war on terror because he thinks that we can just go and smoke the peace pipe with the middle eastern/korean crazies. Clinton wouldn't be very good for national security either because the previous clinton cut military spending by 30% and is the reason why we are so poorly equipped in Iraq today.

So basically my point is, VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Thoughts on the Democratic Candidates Potential

Well I am glad that we have been forced to post on our lovely political blog despite Doc's lies about how this would be optional.  This has also come at a really unfortunate time because I really should be doing my Bio lab.  So I will make this short and sweet...

So I guess I will discuss the whole primary deal and how my predictions turned out.  I predicted that McCain and Hilary would win California despite my want of Obama to win it for the democrats.  My predictions turned out to be correct.  I am afraid that if Hilary wins the democratic nomination that all the republicans will galvanize against her because they have a history of hating the Clintons.  At the same time she does seem to be winning a lot of swing voters like Mexican immigrants.  As far as Obama goes, I think he might stand a better chance in the general elections but at the same time a lot of people are turned off by his inexperience.  Basically to conclude I think the democratic nomination is going to be a really close call and we won't have a certain idea who will get it until the very end.  Then maybe we should reconviene for another forced blog once the candidates have been declared.
